Life is a daring adventure
There’s no time to waste! We’ve lived full lives with lots to show for it. But if you’re like most of us above 50, as the earlier stages of our life wind down we can begin to feel adrift. Maybe even a bit disoriented.
There’s a lot more life to live! Passions to feed. New experiences to enjoy. Lessons to learn….. and share.
In 1940 Keller published “Let Us Have Faith”. The chapter titled “Faith Fears Not” contained the following passage.
“Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. God Himself is not secure, having given man dominion over His works! Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. The fearful are caught as often as the bold. Faith alone defends. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. To keep our faces toward change and behave like free spirits in the presence of fate is strength undefeatable.”

Inhale Courage, Exhale Fear
Life is brimming with adventures we have yet to begin. Let’s take a collective deep breath and begin something new. Something we’ve dreamed of doing during the past couple of year but didn’t start because of the ‘what ifs’.
If not now, when? Each day that ticks by takes us further away from living our best, truest, joy filled life.
Take a penguin step toward that goal. Even if it’s simply looking up the phone numbers of a purveyor of your dream. Tomorrow, maybe you’ll muster the courage to call the numbers you’ve collected today, so you can find out more. And so it goes. One penguin step after the other.
Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, and forget the ones who don’t. Believes that everything happens for a reason, and stay open to finding out what that reason is. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Forgive others, not because they deserve forgiveness, but because YOU deserve peace. Nobody said life would be easy… they said it would be worth it. Now that you have all that accumulated wisdom, share it.These are the keys to lifelong happiness.
You’ve done the hard part, you’ve gotten through the trials and tribulations of life. Wow! You’ve learned so much along the way. Wisdom comes with age.
Nothing in life make you feel happy and fulfilled like sharing and caring. Offering a helping hand, an ear to listen, or assisting making life just a little easier or joy filled. As the old adage says, “What comes around, goes around”. Keep your circle positive. Speak good words. Think good thoughts. Do good deeds.
There’s so much to see, do and experience. We’re not here for a long time, so let’s make it a good time!
